Research Interests

Applied microeconometrics, particularly the investment and financial behaviour of firms.

My research centres on the investment and financial behaviour of firms, for example the effects of uncertainty and financing constraints on corporate investment, and the effects of taxation on company dividend policies. Other interests include corporate taxation, investment and economic growth, and panel data econometrics.

ESRC Award

Together with colleagues at the Oxford University Centre for Business Taxation, I have been awarded an ESRC research grant which will fund a four year research programme on Business, Taxation and Welfare.

After some years in gestation, my survey paper with John Van Reenen on Microeconometric Models of Investment and Employment has finally appeared in Volume 6A of the Handbook of Econometrics series, edited by Jim Heckman and Ed Leamer.
